Everything was prepared, the guests were gathered, sitting in their seats. There weren’t many.

You sat in a room off the main, looking into the mirror. You were in your Pooka form, The ribbon your mother had given you was tied around your neck in a nice boy that was off center, a simple white daisy placed by your left ear.

Your mother and father were in the room with you, pacing and chatting. Why?

Aster had yet to return.

You were calm and collected on the outside, but inside was like a volcano. You were worried sick about him! Was everything okay? Was he hurt? Where was he?

Your parents were assuring you that he’d be there, thinking more about the wedding than him. The wedding itself was supposed to start half an hour ago, and you were getting more worried by the minute.

You were about to get a glass of water for yourself when you heard a familiar voice, but not the one you expected.

“[Name]!! Where are you!” Jack called as he flew in, crash landing through the door. He tumbled a little bit, landing flat on his back, dazed. You rushed over to him.

“Jack! What are you doing here?” you asked, not sure whether to be happy or anxious by him being here.

“It’s Bunny,” was all he said sadly as he sat up. Your heart stopped for a second.

“Where is he? Where’s my Aster?!” you shouted at him, wanting him to tell you.

“I can’t explain everything, but we need you at the North Pole!” Jack said. No sooner had the words left his mouth that you were gone down your own rabbit hole. It took mere seconds to get to the pole. You hopped out and scared a few elves and a couple yetis’ at your sudden entrance.

“Where’s Aster!” you shouted. A big white bearded man turned and looked at you. You guessed he was North. Seeing you, he didn’t even need to ask who you were. He walked over to you and set a hand on your shoulder.

“He is here, he’s sleeping right now. Let me explain what happened.” he said and you both sat down.

When the Guardians had met up with Pitch, they had been ambushed. Not really a surprise, but still a bit unexpected. There were so many Nightmares that no one had escaped unscathed. But Aster had gotten the worst of it. They had managed to kill most nightmares and escape.

As the story went on, your heart couldn’t stop beating, it felt like it was going to go out of your chest. You had changed back to your true form, the stress being too much for you. You were almost in tears. Jack had appeared some time in the story and was rubbing your back comfortingly.

“Can I see him?” you asked after you had calmed down a little. North just nodded and lead you through the halls of his workshop to where Aster was sleeping. He stopped at a wooden door and turned to you. He gave you a reassuring squeeze on your shoulder before walking away. You faced the door and took a deep breath before walking in.

Aster lay on the bed on the far wall. You rushed over to him and took a closer look. He was covered in bandages and you could see some bruises through his fur. His eyes were closed and his breathing was shallow, but he was alive. You silently cried as you sat beside him in a chair that had been provided.

You reached over and took one of his paws in your hand. Leaning up, you gave a gentle kiss to his temple. He mumbled something in his sleep and shifted a little bit, but didn’t wake up. His face was scrunched a little bit in pain, and he looked like he might be having a nightmare. SO to ease his mind, you started singing.

It started out as a feeling,
Which then grew into a hope.
Which the turned into a quiet thought,
Which then turned into a quiet word.

Asters body had started to relax, becoming less tense. You gave a small smile and rubbed the paw you were holding with your thumb, continuing to sing.

*And then that word grew louder and louder,
‘Til it was a battle cry,
I’ll come back, When you call me.
No need to say goodbye.

Aster seemed almost completely relaxed now, his breathing deeper and even. You moved your hand up to stroke his ears, soothing him while he slept.

Just because everything’s changing,
Doesn’t mean it’s never been this way before.
All you can do is try to know who your friends are,
As you head off to the war.

You closed your eyes, singing gently.

Pick a star on the dark horizon and,
Follow the light.
You’ll come back when it’s over
No need to say goodbye.

You’ll come back when it’s over,
No need to say goodbye.

Aster now slept peacefully, totally relaxed and soothed. You were tired from all of the emotions you had gone through that day and your could feel your eyes closing. Very carefully, you climbed into bed next to Aster, snuggling up to him without hurting him.

“Goodnight Aster, get better soon.” you said, giving him one more kiss before falling asleep.

You woke up the next morning with an arm draped over your midsection. Looking behind you, you saw a half-humansleeping Aster. His bandages had been removed and most of his bruises were gone. You turned around and admired him. He was almost completely healed, over night! You smiled  and snuggled up to him, feeling very relieved.

“Good morning love,” you heard your most favoritest voice in the entire world. Looking up, you saw Asters green eyes looking down at you, smiling lovingly. You wrapped your arms around him and hugged him, almost forgetting about some of his wounds.

“You’re okay!” you whispered as you pulled away and brought him in for a long overdue kiss. He didn’t hesitate to return it, having missed you nearly as much as you’ve missed him. The kiss was filled with sparks, like fireworks in July.

Both of you were out of breath when you pulled away. You rested your foreheads together and just gazed into each others eyes. Ther was no noise in the room except you two playing footsies under the sheets.

“Don’t ever do that to me again.” you told him. He chuckled and kissed your nose, making you blush a little bit.

“I’ll make that promise after we get married.” he said, giving you a small smirk. You tried not to laugh, but you couldn’t help the giggle that you let out. You were just happy he was back.

~*~

It was your wedding day, again. This time Aster was fully healthy and accounted for. You sat in the same spot you had sat before, wearing the same things, in full Pooka form. You were alone this time, left with your thoughts for a little while.

You thought about what was about to happen. You were going to be marrying the Easter Bunny! You were going to be a wife, and have kids someday. You were in going to be with him forever, and you couldn’t wait! A knock at the door pulled you out of your thoughts. Your father popped his head in, looking at you.

“You ready?” he asked, you smiled and nodded.

“Yeah.” you said. Your father lead you into the space by the hand and when you reached Aster, he handed you over to him. A tradition made by the father saying that he was giving his baby girl away with happiness and pride. You now stood facing each other, holding hands.

“Reveal your weapons.” the elder said. You summoned your swords and Aster took out his boom-a-rangs. “As a sign of unity, we bind your weapons together with rope, strong like the relationship you share.” he said and wrapped the weapons with a strong piece of rope as you held the bottom of the weapons, Aster holding the top.

“As a sign of a new beginning, love, protection, and health, we bind your weapons together with willow branches, letting any troubles that befall you blow past like a breeze, only ruffling you slightly.”  he tied a few branches around your weapons.

“And finally, as a sign of wisdom and creativity, a sunflower placed among the rest, showing that there is never nothing, and always hope.” he said, placing a sunflower in your bouquet of weapons. “Shall you two be bound for the rest of your days! Rejoice!” the audience cheered and you smiled at Aster, who returned it. You both leaned over the your weapons, leaning in to kiss.

“You may kiss the bride,”

(Epilogue)

It had been three years since you and Aster had gotten married. You were living with him at his Warren, living in a huge tree trunk house. You both painted eggs together, it was your favorite pass time.

You hardly had to change out of your true form there. It was wonderful and relaxing. Your marriage had brought a new light to the Pooka population, and they didn’t shun your kind as much as they used to.

Something you would look forward to would be when Jack would visit. He still quarreled with Aster, but you would put it away when you were around. You were like and older sister to him, and though he wouldn’t admit it, Aster was like an older brother. A happy little family. And it was about to grow.

You had figured out that you were pregnant, and wondered how to tell Aster and Jack. Yu had been wondering this when you heard them bickering outside.

“How many times do I have to tell you!! I’m a bloody kangaroo!” Aster shouted. You walked out of the how, observing the two. Jack just laughed.

“You’re a giant australian rodent! Of course you’re a kangaroo!” he said. Aster started chasing him around, but failed epically when Jack flew up into the air, just out of his reach.

“Come back here and face me like a man!” Aster shouted.

“Come and get me!” Jack shouted back. You sighed.

“Are you guys going to be like this when the baby comes?” you asked, seeing if they would notice. They did.

Aster turned to look at you eyes wide. Jack did the same at first, but lost his concentration and fell out of the air, landing on his face. He didn’t move, too shocked still. Aster hopped over to you, looking between you face and your stomach area where a small bundle of joy was growing. He moved a little bit behind you and placed a paw on your stomach, you setting a hand over it.

“Are you serious?” he asked. You smiled up at him and nodded.

“Or course I am. You’re going to be a father!” you said. You looked over at Jack, who was still on the ground. “And Jack, you’re going to be an uncle!” you shouted to him. His head shot up and after a moment, a huge smile spread across his face.

“Yeah! Alright! We’re going to have so much fun! Woohoo!” he yelled and flew around, doing some flips. “One big happy family!” you giggled at his antics and looked back to Aster, who was rubbing your belly slightly.

“One big happy family.” you whispered.

~*~

One year later, you had two three month olds. Yes, you had had twins. A boy and a girl. Hope and Hunter. They were your world, along with Aster. He was a great father and helped in any way he could. Even change diapers!

Uncle Jack had kept his promise to have fun with the two. Whenever you and Aster would want alone time together, Uncle Jack would watch over them and entertain them to the fullest. Aster was a little uncertain about that in the beginning, but saw that Jack was responsible enough to take care of his little ankle biters.

This had definitely gone up for you.
